15 Tips to Avoid Quick Battery



Just because you have the latest and up-to-date iOS version doesn't mean you won't have problems anymore! The way you use it and the settings you adjust matters a lot in terms of overall performance. Wrong adjustment, it can drain your iPhone battery for sure! I've observed much earlier that users complain about the iPhone's battery, but the basic adjustments in the settings can improve the battery life of iOS 13.

Tip # 1. Force quit apps on iOS 13

Tip # 3. Use Low Power Mode

There is nothing wrong with keeping your device in low power mode all the time if you do not want all notifications and apps running in the background. Many other features are disabled when low power mode is turned on and this saves a lot of battery power.

Tip # 4. Turn off Raise to Wake

Raise to Wake is a handy option to quickly see notifications on your lock screen. But during this process, it can consume a certain amount of battery power every time you raise the iPhone.

To turn this option off, go to Settings → Display and Brightness → Turn OFF Raise to Awake option .

Tip # 5. Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth

When turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth through the Control Center , they are not actually turned off, but they are still active in the background. So make sure you turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both completely.

To turn Wi-Fi off, go to Settings → WiFi → Turn it to OFF and turn off Bluetooth, Settings → Bluetooth → Turn it to OFF . So from next time, use the Settings app instead of Control Center to turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to extend the life of the iPhone battery.

Tip # 6. Turn off automatic downloads and updates

Every time you download a new app on iPhone, you do not need to download to other devices connected to the same iCloud account. The reason is that when the app is downloaded to your iPhone, it is also downloaded to other devices, and it is automatically updated even when the update rolls out.

This can be an interesting feature and of course a productivity hack as well, but it can consume battery power in the process for sure. The app you use on your iPhone may not be needed on your iPad sometimes, so what's the use of turning on automatic downloads? Instead, turn it off and improve battery life on iOS 13.

To turn off automatic downloads and updates, open Settings and scroll down to press iTunes & App Save → turn off app updates by turning on the button and turn off auto downloads as well.

App notifications can be a distraction to your job, or even when you sleep! Although few app notifications can be important to you, depending on the apps you use, and few can be useless that you use once in a blue moon!

Just avoid the app notifications to improve iPhone battery life on iOS 13. To allow notifications only from select apps, go to Settings touch Notifications touch a particular app, say Facetime and then to enable Allow notifications option.

If you have already used low power mode as mentioned in tip # 3, the background app update will automatically be disabled. And if you haven't, follow these steps.

Go to Settings touch General → touch Wallpaper App Update touch Wallpaper App Refresh at the top of the screen, and now press on AV to disable it completely. To enable it only on Wi-Fi, just tap Wi-Fi. But don't choose Wi-Fi and mobile data if you want your iPhone battery to last a long time!

Tip # 9. Watch for Display and Brightness

Not only one, but there are many settings you can adjust in the Display & Brightness section. One of them was to turn off the Raise to Wake option as you just saw in tip # 4 . This saves you the battery every time you raise your iPhone.

Besides, make sure the brightness is not too high and is within limits. Furthermore, you can maintain the auto-lock option within 1 minute if possible.

So here you can change all these settings. Open the Settings app and go to the Display & Brightness section of it by scrolling down. Adjust the brightness exactly as you need it, don't keep it full all the time.

Turn off Raise to Wake to disable the Raise to Wake option. Press Auto-Lock and set it to 30 seconds or a maximum of 1 minute to save more power. This can save you at least 10% to 20% of the battery if you use it smartly.

Tip # 10. Turn off location services

Maximum power consumption on iPhone is location services and of course brightness as mentioned earlier. It is important to turn it off when you are not using it for any purpose.

Sometimes some apps may ask for permission to access a place, and you accept it, but when you close the app, you forget to turn off the place. And at the end of the day, the iPhone battery depletes quickly! This can hurt you when you travel from home and use Apple Maps or Google Maps extensively. In the meantime, if the location is turned on ON, you can allow apps to only use location services when you use it. This saves you a good amount of battery, but if you disable location services, you are sure to improve battery life on iOS 13.

Tip # 11. Disable Widgets

Although this feature may not kill battery life in iOS 13 , but it's always good to check the widgets section as well. Swipe right on the home screen to see the widgets you are using. Scroll down the screen and touch Edit at the end of the screen.

Now remove the apps you are not using from widgets by to tap the red icon on the left side of a particular app or game, and touch remove that appears on right side. This may not show a very big impact, but it will give some battery life for sure!

Tip # 12. Reset all settings

If you do not get desired results despite following all the above tips, it is time to completely reset your iPhone settings to normal.

To reset all settings on your iPhone running on iOS 13, open Settings app touch General go to Reset by scrolling down and touch Reset all settings it will ask for confirmation, press it to continue. Don't worry, this won't erase data from your device, it just resets all settings to normal mode.

This will erase all settings that were unknown to you and could kill iPhone battery. Once you have reset the settings, be sure to follow the above tips from scratch!

Tip # 13. Restart the device

How often do we use this feature for unexpected errors or something you don't understand happening on your iPhone? I even do it on my Windows PC when I encounter errors and they are not fixed! Restarting a device is a quick fix at any time.

Just restart iPhone and fix battery drain issue in iOS 13 in seconds. While this may be the quick fix, there may be something else that can kill the battery. Try it!

Tip # 14. Check your apps

To see which apps are killing your battery, go to Settings and touch Battery . Scroll down to see which of your iPhone apps use more power for no reason.

Tip # 15. Downgrade to iOS 12 or Wait for iOS 13 Public Release
