My Sisters 2012 The MacBook Pro was recently roasted from an update that ruined some of the files, and in the process, the boot files start to run the computer.
Long story short, I have an extra hard drive I can insert it, and I'm not worried about replacing the Flex cable that must also be replaced. The worrying part of the process for me is getting the HDD formatted for the computer.
My question is, will the MacBook format the drive and then boot where I can update my software? Or will I have to get a flash drive and download something online to plug in during the installation to provide the necessary files?
For context, the Apple Store said that the HDD and flex cable are the problem and should be replaced, but charging $ 1
Any help is appreciated!
