So I’ve been a self-taught developer for almost two years now and finally got a job in iOS development coming from IT (yay!). I have been at work for three weeks now, have committed some code and helped with some processes, but had my first “mistake” today. I thought I could get a feature implemented in two days (change some custom view code to a group view) and just can not for the life of me find the solution to an aspect of the problem. It’s just me and another dev, but I’m just an iOS dev, and he’s both iOS and Android. I feel defeated since this was my first problem working “alone” with the code and had the confidence to go into it, but I feel like I set my expectations of myself and him a little high. I know he will be cool with it tomorrow, and work seems to be very supportive for me to learn, but I feel I should move faster than I am at the moment.
