Apple Watch, the miniature form of the iPhone, has many features. The small screen keeps you flawlessly updated throughout the day with many alerts. To house them all in free space, Apple has designated icons and symbols for the same. Given the current upgrade in watchOS and the list of icons and symbols, we would like to understand them better. Let’s take a look at all the Apple Watch icons and symbol meanings.
Power of the Thunder
1. Green lightning bolt
Most of us are aware of this common sign. Means power, the green lightning on the Apple Watch screen indicates that your the clock is connected to a charger and charging the device. When it is finally charged, the thunder sign will have a circle surrounding it.
2. Red lightning bolt
The symbol indicates that the Apple Watch is runs out of battery and requires charging as early as possible. The symbol appears after your battery percentage has dropped to 10%. However, if you do not have a charger around, it is recommended that you consider turning on the power reserve. Doing so will turn off all features except show you current time and eventually extend battery life.
Far from the world
The icon means that the Apple Watch is in Flight mode. That said, in this mode, you have zero access to the wireless features. Only the non-wireless features can be used.
4. Crescent icon
The symbol means that your watch is in Do Not Disturb mode. When in this mode, the Apple Watch screen will not light up or ring when you receive a call or text. However, the alarm clock functionality will still work.
5. Icon for two face masks
The symbol tells you that the Apple Watch is in Theater mode. Here, silent mode is activated automatically, and the screen remains dark until the digital crown or touch is available on the screen. Having this feature will keep the screen dark at all times, whether you have the Apple Watch Series 5.6 or SE, which always has it on the retina.
As you might guess, the icon says that the Apple Watch is in Sleep mode. When you are in this mode, the screen will turn off, and when you touch the screen, the sleep timer will appear in front of you. You can set the sleep time from the settings app.
7. Tiny Radar Icon
The icon means that the Apple Watch is connected to one Wi-Fi icon. You can turn Apple Watch’s Wi-Fi on and off by tapping the little radar icon in the Control Center.
8. Four horizontal dots
This icon can only be noticed when the Apple Watch has it GPS + mobile connection and is currently connected to a mobile network. That said, the horizontal dots indicate the strength of your signal.
9. Red device with a slash icon
This icon means that your the watch is not connected to iPhone. To remove this icon from the Apple Watch screen, consider bringing it close to the iPhone or checking if flight mode is turned on. If it is on, turn it off.
10. Red Cross badge icon
If Apple Watch has GPS connection and has lost a mobile network, you will find this character on the Watch screen.
11. AirPlay Icon
You can switch audio output by tapping this icon in the Control Center. This is useful if you have paired different audio sources such as speakers, headphones and accessories.
Icons that require attention
12. Drop icon
The icon indicates that the Water Lock feature on the Apple Watch is on. It relinquishes the Apple Watch to perform certain functions. The list includes Wi-FI, Bluetooth and other features. Not only this, with the function on, your watch will not respond to taps. You can turn the function on and off from the control center.
13. Red Dot Icon
Do not see this red dot on your Apple Watch unless you are busy. That means you have unread alerts.
14. Up arrow icon
If you can see this icon on the Apple Watch Screen, one will app or functionality uses your location in the background.
15. The lock icon
As you might guess, the icon indicates that yours Apple Watch is locked. Please enter your password to unlock the watch.
Icons for active apps
16. Running icon
The icon is usually visible if you use training app on your watch. However, if you see the icon yourself when you are not using it, consider restarting your Apple Watch.
17. Walkie talkie icon
Your watch is using Walkie-Talkie-app on your watch. It allows you to get in touch with your friends remotely.
18. Turn the right icon
This icon only appears when the Apple Watch is using one third-party navigation app. This should disappear automatically, shortly after the navigation is completed.
19. Microphone icon
The icon can usually be seen when one or the other the feature listens to you. The list of features includes talking to Siri, recording, hand washing or Walkie-Talkie.
20. Striped game icon
This is the creative version of the traditional play button. That said, if your Apple Watch plays audiothe icon appears at the top of the screen.
