Apple has just wrapped up its big iPhone event, and in case you missed it, we followed the events as they developed with a live blog.
While most rumors about the three new iPhones turned out to be true, a number of products reveal that it did not happen. No new MacBook or iPad Pro. Not even the long-lasting AirPower wireless charger or other generation AirPods were unveiled.
With that said, the new Apple Watch Series 4 with its new design and ECG measurement capability is probably the best leap in today's announcements. We've been expecting Apple's offerings this time, but in combination with this year's generous iPhone leaks that almost did not find any surprises, yesterday's "Gather Round" event was a barrier, if not underestimating, Apple event
. If you missed it, it's all you need to know about Apple's new gadgets.
iPhone XS, XS Max and XR
As expected, Apple revealed three new iPhones ̵
As you may have guessed, the iPhone XS models are the typical upgraded S versions of the iPhone X. XS has a 5.8-inch OLED screen that looks like iPhone X while the XS Max has a large 6.5 inch OLED screen, the biggest iPho no screen yet.
The iPhone XR, on the other hand, has a 6.1-inch LCD screen. Apple calls "Liquid Display." With its LCD screen, the XR model is cheaper, but it will still have features like Face ID and an edge-to-edge display.
All year's iPhones also get Apple's new 7-nanometer A12 Bionic chip. According to Apple, this chip is briskly powerful with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, a Neural Engine and two-performance CPU cores. The A12 CPU runs 15 percent faster than the A11, and the GPU goes 50 percent faster.
Camera wise, XS and XS Max will both have a dual camera rear system (12 MP wide and 12 MP telephoto lenses.) These models also feature an updated image signal processor with Neural Engine features plus new "Smart HDR" processing.
The cheaper iPhone XR has only a 12 MP angle camera lens, but it is also able to capture portrait mode images. All models also support adjustable Bokeh depth editing edits after editing.
XS and XS Max also have better IP68 water and dust protection (iPhone X only has an IP67 rating) and better audio speakers.
All the new iPhones will have faster LTE connections plus multiple numbers with dual SIM support via eSim technology.
Battery powered, iPhone XS has 30 minutes more battery life than X, while XS Max, one hour longer. XR's battery life is 90 minutes more than the iPhone 8 Plus.
As the reputation, 3D Touch is noticeably absent in XR specification sheets, but we assume it is available on the XS models.
The iPhone X models are made of stainless steel and will be available in Space Gray, Silver and Gold.
On the other hand, XR is made of aluminum and comes in six different colors: black, white, red, yellow, coral and blue.
When are they available?
iPhone XS (64, 256, 512GB of storage) starts at $ 999. XS Max starts at $ 1,099. Pre-orders start on Friday. Ships September 21st.
iPhone XR comes in three storage sizes (64, 128, 256GB). Starting at $ 749. Pre-orders begin October 19, ships on October 26th.
Price reductions on iPhone 7 ($ 499) and iPhone 8 ($ 599) were also taken after the event.
Are the new iPhones worth it?
If you currently have an iPhone X, the incremental updates to the iPhone XS are probably not worth it. But if you want a huge OLED display, it's the biggest iPhone screen, but XS Max is the one you get. With OLED's brightness and clarity, the XS Max screen will look amazing.
What about iPhone XR? Owners of older iPhones like 7, 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Plus may upgrade to iPhone XR for Face ID and edge-to-edge screen. But if you want to keep hanging on Apple's Touch ID fingerprint system, stay better with your old iPhone.
Is this also the end of pocket-shaped iPhones? People who want the smaller form factors in the old non-plus iPhones are not lucky this time.
The smallest iPhone this year is iPhone XS, and it starts with a huge $ 999. If you do not want to spend that much, you have to pay for iPhone XR's massive 6.1-inch screen.
Apple Watch Series 4
With its new redesign and sensors, the new Apple Watch Series 4 has just created the new iPhones with its fresh features and features.
Compared with its predecessors, the new Apple Watch Series 4 models have smaller fittings and larger edge-to-edge monitors with curved corners while retaining almost the same size as the older models. Series 4 clock is also thinner with less volume than Series 3.
The 4-user user interface was also updated with more information, new "complication" options, and exclusive watchfamilies including Breath, Fire, Water and Vapor.
The digital crown was also redesigned and now has its own haptic feedback. It is interesting how developers will use this, but I guess it will be useful when scrolling through lists and monitors.
Probably, it has Apple's newest 64-bit dual-core S4 chip, and it's twice faster than Series 3.
Better. Series 4 has new sensors that can detect three new heart disease – low heart rate, irregular heartbeat, and most of all it can now take the electrocardiogram (ECG or ECG) measurements.
With Series 4's new electrodes, you can now take your ECG measurements anytime, anywhere, by holding your fingertips on the watch's crown. Now it's a game exchange! Instead of going to a clinic to get ECG, you can now do it yourself.
Apple said that Apple Watch Series 4 has FDA clearance, so we hope the ECG measurements are accurate.
Series 4 also updated accelerometers and gyroscopes can detect cases! And with its ability to call emergency services when a fall is discovered, this can be a lifeguard!
Other Series 4 upgrades include a black ceramic and crystal crystal back, a higher speaker and a repositioned microphone for better phone calls, an improved lifetime for all day, as well as support for Bluetooth 5.0.
These are all major incremental updates for Apple Watch, if you ask me. (But we are still waiting for the rumored sugar level sensors, though.)
I want it! When is it available?
Apple Watch Series 4 prices start at $ 399 with GPS. $ 499 for mobile. Series 3 starts at $ 279.
Series 4 pre-orders start this Friday and will be broadcast on September 21st. The Series 3 price drops are now in force.
