AMO, Scribblet, Stream and other apps to check out this weekend

Apps of the week

In this week’s Apps of the Week summary, we have a fascinating app for artwork, a fun widget maker and a very minimal RSS feed reader. And as always, we have selected two great new games that you can check out.

AMO: Daily Art Inspiration

The developers describe AMO as an app created by artists, for artists, but I would argue that the audience is much larger than that. It contains over 40,000 works of art, and it is this great Artist of the Day feature that shows you a familiar piece along with interesting facts about the artist. There is even a widget on the home screen and downloadable HD wallpapers.

Scribblet

Speaking of art, for those who like to create their own, here is a handy app that creates widgets, called Scribblet. It allows you to make drawings and handwritten notes for iOS 14 modules. So with it you can … create a todo list, write a message or just bless the home screen with a special doodle.

Stream – A feed reader

Meet Stream, an uncomplicated timeline-based feed reader that is about as minimal as it gets. There are no unread / read counts, no grouping of feeds, and it does not support any third party services. However, it has a nice icon and it supports RSS, Atom JSON Feed and OPML.

IncrediMarble

IncrediMarble is an inactive incremental building game where you build giant marble light worlds. Yes that’s right, slide worlds. You have around 30 pieces to choose from, and your imagination is the only limit. So what kind of marble worlds do you think you can build? Just a way to find out.

112 Operator

I usually do not like to choose more expensive games for these round games, but I just could not give this up. It is called 112 operator, and it gives you responsibility for the emergency services for almost all major cities in the world. You make calls and send rescue services, and handle difficult situations such as natural disasters.
