MacRumors says Apple will open a new store at the Galleria Dallas Mall in Dallas, just south of the eastern district of the Texas border. By closing its stores in East Texas, Apple ends its established business district in the district. As MacRumors notes, this is important because under US law patent applications can be filed "where the defendant has committed infringement cases and has a firm and established place of business."
The Eastern District Court in Texas is known to be lawsuit friendly. Very friendly. It's the court that has seen many claims and decisions about Apple patent infringement, piling up against tech giant.
