Apple just lost a loyal customer over an abusive Apple Watch repair policy: AppleWatch



A series 4 Apple Watch fell on the floor when I got out of the shower. The screen broke (everything else worked well) – my own fault, let's figure out how to repair it.

Obviously, Apple makes the watch basically irreversible, not by Apple itself, not by anyone else. The only option is to bring it to the Apple Store (travel expenses, even if you in the US are likely to send it), pay $ 299 + tax (which is 3/4 of the price of the new watch), wait 3-5 days ( Why?) and then appear on the Apple Store again to pick it up. The most remarkable thing was in a way that they didn't even give you a replacement band or charger – they advertise "repair" as the new watch, but they literally just give you the clock itself. By comparison, I could have purchased the new $ 380 bra with the bra, sold the band and charger, and possibly sold the fully functioning old model with the broken screen. Still kicking myself for not doing so.

Anyway, I'm not a happy customer, and I want to migrate away from Apple's products that are obviously so easy to break and so difficult and expensive to repair.
