Apple on Wednesday launched its mobile payment service Apple Pay in Belgium . Customers in this country can now add MasterCard or Maestro debit or credit cards to the Wallet app on your device to use it to pay for goods and services in stores, online and in apps through an iPhone, Apple Watch, or Mac. 1
Belgium is already high on contactless payments. In Belgium, merchants and coffee shops support other forms of mobile payments, such as scanning a QR code next to the cash register to transfer the requested amount. Contactless payments via NFC-enabled credit cards, however, require PIN verification (or contact ID / face ID) for amounts over 25 euros.
Apple's mobile payment service is scheduled to expand to Germany in the next few days, and will soon come to Saudi Arabia. Apple Pay uses NFC technology and tokenization to process transactions without sending private user details to the seller.
See Apple Support Document for the list of participating banks in Europe, or read the iOS Accessibility page to find out exactly where Apple Pay is currently available.
