Apple releases iOS 12.1, watchOS 5.1 and tvOS 12.1 to the public



Apple has released iOS 12.1, watchOS 5.1

and tvOS 12.1 to the public. The updates come on the same day as Apple's "It's More in Production" event, such as the arrival of a new MacBook Air, Mac mini and iPad Pro.

Incremental Updates

As you can see in the video above, Apple's iOS 12.1 update provides four main features for iOS devices: Group FaceTime, New Emojis, and 2018 iPhones, Real-Time Depth Control in the Camera app, and Dual SIM.

IOS 12.1 General Release is available over-the-air (OTA) under the Settings app on the device. Go to General> Software Update to get started. You can also get the new firmware on our download website.

Here's the changelog for iOS 12.1, per Apple:

  • Group FaceTime
  • Supports video and audio calls with up to 32 participants at the same time
  • Encrypted end-to-end so your conversations remains private.
  • Start Group FaceTime right from a group of Messaging conversations, or join an active conversation anytime

  • Dual SIM Support
  • Introduces Dual SIM with eSIM that allows two numbers in a device for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR [19659013] Other enhancements and repairs:

    • Introduces camera controls for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR
    • Improves mobile connectivity for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iP hone XR
    • Adds the ability to change or reset child's screen time code using face ID or touch ID
    • Solves a problem where the sharpest reference frame was not always selected on the front side of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR
    • Solve is a problem that causes messages to merge into one thread when two users were logged in with the same Apple ID on multiple iPhones
