Apple's new, unique, Miami flavors store at Aventura Mall opened today. Apple's store was formerly in the mall, and the new store is in its own building adjacent to the mall. The new store features airy, mid-century contemporary design and a large amphitheater-style area for Today on Apple sessions. The video in our report is from the Miami Herald.
Some of the other features include:
- A floating, white-vaulted roof that makes a 35-foot-high pavilion. It is made of concrete, stone and glass with a double height hall. This is the first Apple Store to have white prefabricated concrete.
- Steps leading to the second floor create an amphitheater called Forum, with a video wall and leather seating. This is where Today's Apple sessions take place.
- A Genius Grove will have a canopy of 22 feet tall local tropical trees that continues into an outdoor public garden area, with teak tables and chairs that reflect the interior design.
