If you have a broken Apple Watch Series 3 and take it for repair, you can beat and get an Apple Watch Series 4 in return. That's the situation after Apple informed the store staff to replace some Apple Watch Series 3 repairs with the newer device.
Apple distributed a note to its Apple Store employees, as well as Apple Authorized Service Providers, according to a new report from 9to5Mac . Due to the limitations on the supply of the older model, the Apple Watch Series 3 stainless steel (GPS + Cellular) will instead be replaced with the Apple Watch Series 4, stainless steel (GPS + mobile), according to the report.
Apple seems to be low stock on Apple Watch Series 3 repairs when the company informed store staff today that it will replace some series 3 repairs with the newer Apple Watch Series 4. Apple announced the change in one internal note provided to the Apple Store repair staff and Apple Authorized Service Providers, according to sources informed of the update.
The note Apple sent out was delivered to all its stores and service providers worldwide, although it was not clarified whether this is a temporary supply problem or one that will see this becoming an ongoing situation.
Apple has fallen into similar situations previously and has Apple Watch Series 2 wearables for those who have the wrong Apple Watch Series 1 devices earlier this year. Apple clearly has trouble keeping older stock around, especially in some versions of wear that may not look the same through popular products.
Of course, it is important that this is not something that people try to take advantage of, and if you give it a shot, there is no guarantee that the outcome will be to your advantage. However, if you have an erroneous stainless steel Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS and mobile connection, this may be time to get it repaired.
