The launch of Apple's long rumored streaming video service is closer than ever. Having built an executive team and signed many TV shows and movies, Apple is apparently ready to launch its video service in 2019. Here's everything we know so far about Apple's streaming service.

] Apple's streaming video efforts really started in 2017 when hiring Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg, two veterans of Sony Television leaders. Ehrlicht and Amburg act as co-heads of Apple's video programming worldwide and report to Eddy Cue.
While Sony TV, Ehrlicht and Amburg played some of the biggest TV shows, including Breaking Bad, Better Caul Saul, The Crown, and more.
In addition to Ehrlicht and Amburg, Apple has made a number of other TV rentals. Carol Trussell of Gaumont Television came to Apple as the production head. Apple also employed a channel 4 TV ecce, as well as WGN, Amazon Studios, Universal Television and more.

What is remarkable about These hires are that Apple does not attempt to launch its streaming service on its own. The company's first originals, Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke, were developed without veteran television help and ended up being widely criticized.
By hiring external executives from such large studios, Apple is apparently signaling that it is ready to compete with likes like Netflix and Amazon in terms of original content and its streaming video service.
Apple has signed dozens of TV shows and movies for its streaming video service. The exhibits range from sci-fi to comedy to drama and include star-cast casts.
While Netflix's original content is notorious for being unapologically raunchy, Apple takes a different approach. A couple of reports from Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have outlined Apple's aversion to adult language, violence and nudity in their television programs.
According to The WSJ, of the performances Apple produces, "only a few" will happen in the TV-MA territory. Meanwhile, Bloomberg says Apple wants TV shows to be "suitable for an Apple Store" and focuses on "comedies and emotional dramas" similar to what you see on NBC.
So what TV shows can we expect from Apple? Quite a few of them.
One of Apple's flagship TV shows will star Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell. The drama presents around a morning and looks at "the people who help America wake up in the morning." It is based on Brian Stelters book "Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV."
Apple is also working closely with Oprah Winfrey on original content for its streaming video service. Last year, the company announced "a unique multi-year content partnership" with Winfrey. The press release for this partnership was also one of the clearest indications of Apple's TV plans:

Together, Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace their incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.
Winfrey's projects will be released as part of a series of original content from Apple.
Apple is also collaborating with Steven Spielberg on a new Sci-fi series in Amazing Stories. The high budget show will include at least 10 episodes and act as a continuation of the anthology of the same name that ran on NBC in the 1980s.
The big name productions do not stop there. J.J Abrams produces a couple of TV shows for Apple. One will star Jennifer Garner, while the other is a drama with Abrams and Sara Bareilles.
For movies, Apple's efforts are not as wide as the TV series. Apple works with the A24 movie studio to produce original movies. The first collaboration between the two is a film "On the Rocks" with Bill Murray and Rashida Jones, with Sofia Coppola as director and producer.

Apple is facing stiff competition in the original content business. Those like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu continue to excel at creating content, and it's hard to ignore that Apple is late for the party here.
In its recent earnings release, Netflix said it focuses on improving the customer experience, not the threatening threat of Apple's streaming video service. Earlier, Netflix has admitted that it has little idea of what to expect from Apple in terms of how it will pack and sell its content to consumers.
It is still unclear how Apple will appreciate its original streaming video service. Both the information and CNBC have reported that Apple will make its original content available for free to device owners.
According to the CNBC report, Apple will make its first update of PG ratings available to everyone at the launch of the video service. Later, it will add a paid subscription service with all the content. The report said:
Apple spends around $ 1 billion on original content this year, and targeting "PG-rated" shows that it appeals to the general public and will not get the company into trouble by making them available for free to owners of all units, the people said. Apple is also looking for "tent pole" franchise that can serve as a linchpins for a paid Netflix-like subscription service down the road, two of the people said.
Furthermore, a separate report from the Information in November suggested that Apple is considering a Chromecast-like dongle to help spread the recording of the TV server service. It is unclear whether this product is still in consideration, but it would make sense for Apple to lower the entry barrier.
Apple will announce its streaming video service on an event at Steve Jobs Theater on March 25th. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple has invited a handful of A-list stars to the event, including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner and more.
While Apple will uncover service in March, Variety reported this week that it will not launch to consumers in the fall. Variety says Apple will offer a first look at its content in March, but the streaming service itself will not continue until late this fall.
While some details about the Apple streaming service are unclear, we know that it appears to be debuting earlier rather than later, and will include a variety of different TV shows and movies.
