Apple, TSU teaming up for coding, app initiative – Apple World Today

The founding Presidential Academy HBCU C2, which was held on Friday by TSU, is intended to expose students to colors for coding and application development.

"The goal is to make sure that HBCUs are not only up-to-date but are creators and innovators of this new technology," Robbie Melton, TSU's Graduate Dean of Candidates and Professional Studies, said, and the initiative's main facilitator, The Tennessean. The program is intended to keep TSU and other HBCUs ahead of technology initiatives to ensure color students gain exposure to coding capabilities.

Last week, the coding and app program gathered students from 1

4 historically black colleges and universities. Students learned through Apple's coding plan, which uses the Swift programming language. The Cupertino, California-based company also provided equipment, scholarships and professional development services for the initiative.
