Apple is holding its “Time Flies” online product presentation today at 10 a.m. PDT where the company is expected to unveil a new iPad and the updated Apple Watch family, including cheaper models. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman called in this morning on Twitter and claimed that the so-called “Apple Watch SE” could be a repackaged Series 5 model that shares the same design and internal specifications.

“I expect the Apple Watch SE to be similar to the Series 5 in terms of design and internal,” Gurman tweeted. “Differences in series 6 will be faster and the oxygen reader in the blood.” According to Gurman’s previous tweet, “I would not look for lots of new ones with the Apple Watch Series 6 in addition to the oxygen monitor and the faster processor.”

Apart from a fourth generation iPad Air with an iPad Pro-like design and USB-C, the event will serve as a starter kit for other gadgets. For example, Gurman expects Apple One and the new fitness service to be unveiled today.

We can also see Apple’s AirPods-branded premium over-the-ear headphones introduced at the event. The same goes for AirTags, which is rumored to be an accessory for Bluetooth tracking of goods. The company was also able to officially unveil Apple One, the rumored subscription package similar to Amazon’s Prime offer.

According to Gurman, we will not see Apple’s 5G iPhones at today’s event. The same goes for the next Apple TV, which is delayed in early 2021, Gurman claims.

Time flies when you have fun

Reliable leak Evan Blass shared his predictions for the event on Twitter and said he also expects an update on the company’s 10.5-inch iPad. According to Blass, that update will include the Apple A12X chip against the A10 Fusion (which also powered the iPhone 7 series) in the current model. That iPad will keep the lightning, noted Blass.

Blass agrees with Gurman that the next iPad Air will not borrow all the features of the iPad Pro series. The tablet will not run Apple’s latest and best mobile chip, and it does not have a ProMotion 120Hz smart screen update function.

This is in line with previous expectations.

The online Apple Store went offline this morning before the event.
