Ariana Grand's new album inserts several Apple Music streaming records

Ariana Grande album thank you, next put two new records on Apple Music when it debuted on Friday: the very first days of a pop album and the very first days of a female artist. Unfortunately, no state with specific numbers comes, but those record heights tell more than just Grande's success as an artist – they also speak to Apple Music's fast-growing subscriber base.

Apple has released streaming statistics more frequently over the past year, apparently boasting how much success the service can be for major artists. In June, Apple said Drake set record for first-day album streams, beating 1

70 million on Scorpion . As far as we know, it's still the record. There does not seem to be data on the first daytime streams for a female artist, but in April, Apple said Cardi B had topped Taylor Swift's previous record for most first-week streams, with a total of 100 million in total.

The context here is not just that these artists deliver great hits, that is, Apple Music continues to grow. When Cardi B.'s record was set, Apple Music had just hit 40 million subscribers. As of last month, the service was reported to 56 million subscribers. The last figure includes both paid subscribers and people participating in free trials, which Apple has pressured aggressively. The service is now gathered on some Verizon plans, and most likely the subscribers are pushing up much higher.
