With the launch of IOS 12.3 and TVOS 12.3 yesterday, Apple launched its updated TV app. New Apple TV channels allow users to subscribe to right on their devices, with all payment and content handled by Apple.
In Canada, the new TV app gets only two Apple TV channels: Smithsonian and Acorn TV. These channels are also available in the United States, while our American neighbors get others like HBO, Showtime, Stars and Cinemax. Due to regional licensing, these channels are owned by Bell Media in Canada.
There is nothing about Bell Media joining Apple TV channels, but with Apple Thrones on Crave, Apple helped the latest app to become one of the most popular in the App Store, spoken heavily before launching it eighth season.
The Smithsonian channel shows $ 3.99 per month, while Acorn TV is $ 8.99 per month, both with a free 7-day trial. 1
