When Apple killed the headphone jack on the latest iPhone, we were assured it would be okay, and Apple was really just being "courageous." Apple was releasing the AirPod wireless earbuds. . For a more $ 1
Apple originally said the AirPods would ship in late October. When that vague time frame came and went, people started asking questions. At the time, Apple simply said it only releases products when they're ready. The AirPods, apparently, were not ready. Here we are several weeks later, and there is still no sign of the AirPods. You can not even pre-order them, and they do not appear on Apple's holiday shopping guide.
The AirPods are not the first completely wireless earbuds-they do not even have a wire between the left and right bids. Products like Earin and Bragi Dash have hit the market, but the reviews have been pretty awful with complaints of poor connectivity and battery life. Apple's AirPods are even smaller than many of those similar products, so there are probably engineering hurdles still to overcome. Releasing a buggy product would just give people more reason to complain about the lack of a headphone jack on the iPhone 7.
Apple's AirPods are designed to use Bluetooth technology with some additional Apple features overlaid on it. They work with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch running iOS 10, the Apple Watch on watchOS 3, and Macs running Sierra. Recent reports point to December as the beginning of production, indicating the device will begin shipping in early 2017. Apple has refused to offer a new release time frame. You'll just have to do with conventional Bluetooth earbuds … or get a phone with a headphone jack.
