Digiface AVB achieves macOS support

Digiface AVB is a portable USB3 audio interface that connects computers and DAWs to AVB. It has been compatible with Windows since its launch and has now added MacOS support to Apple users.

Since Mac computers support AVB originally via macOS, RME did not consider needing an external third-party solution such as AVB interface. However, the manufacturer has now ported the RME AVB Controller to macOS, updated the USB driver in the family class to include network support and updated Digiface AVB firmware for Mac operation. After testing from several professional AVB companies and users, RME has decided to publish Mac support for its Digiface AVB.

Digiface AVB does not use Mac's original AVB deployment capability. Instead, it uses RME's own and provides access to AVB as a 1

28-channel USB3 audio interface, including TotalMix FX support.

System requirements include the latest driver release, 3.15 or later, including TotalMix FX and full support for Digiface AVB, firmware version 203 or later, RME's AVB controls for running and accessing Digiface AVB and Mac OS X 10.11 or later.

RME has also released new firmware for its ADI-2 Pro series for FPGA version 193 and DSP version 94.
