You love wearing the Apple Watch, as it is an excellent piece of technology with cool features. However, if it does not charge, you are left with an expensive showpiece without use. Now, before you panic and wonder “why not charge your Apple Watch,” follow this guide and see how to resolve this issue.
- Hard reset Apple Watch

- Try another Apple Watch charger
- Delete Apple Watch and set it up again
Before we begin:
First, let’s make sure the Apple Watch is charging or not. To check this, place the clock on the charger. Do you see a lightning bolt icon? It̵
Now open Control center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Then press the battery percentage.
If you find that it is charging, you are good to go. If not, continue reading below. Let’s solve this problem!
1. Hard reset Apple Watch
A power start will give watchOS a new push. This will also address software level errors that may have occurred during normal use.
To reset the Apple Watch hard, press Side button and Digital Crown together. Leave the buttons when you see the Apple logo on the screen.
2. Remove the Apple Watch Protective Case
Do you use a protective case that covers the entire back of the Apple Watch? If so, you can remove it. There should be no obstruction between the back of the watch and the charging socket.
If you have not peeled off the plastic foil from both sides of the magnetic Apple Watch charger, you can do so.
In addition, make sure that dirt does not cause interference. To clean the back of the watch and charger, use a soft, dry cloth and slowly wipe the surfaces.
3. Try another Apple Watch charger
Before we go for full deletion, it makes sense to check a few basic things.
- Be sure to use the original charger and connector provided with the Apple Watch.
- Inspect the cable for physical damage.
- The problem may be with the charger. Consider using an extra charger to further secure.
- Make sure the USB is properly connected to the AC adapter or computer.
4. Delete Apple Watch and set it up again
Apple Watch will not charge even though you follow the solutions and recommendations above?
In such a case, let’s delete the Apple Watch completely and set it up again. This removes everything on your watch, including custom settings.
To delete Apple Watch, tap the Digital Crown to see all the apps. From here, press Settings appikon. Press General → Reset.
Now, press Delete all content and settings → Delete all. Enter the password and confirm.
When full reset is complete, pair (set up) Apple Watch again.
