Free Apple TV + subscription was officially extended to February 2021 – Six colors

By Dan Moren

As rumored, Apple has extended the free subscriptions they distributed to the TV + streaming service until February. I and other subscribers received the following email this morning:

AppleTV + extension

We give you extra time to discover the latest Apple Originals and catch up on the shows that are coming back for a new season. No need to do anything ̵

1; just keep watching for free until February 2021.

While Apple did not explain the rationale behind the expansion, it is widely believed that it is because the other seasons of many of the debut launches – which are expected to premiere now – have been pushed back to later in the year or early next year. .

Apple continues to offer free, year-round TV + subscriptions to those who purchase a new Apple device (though it continues to enforce a one-per-family limit). One remaining question is exactly how this will play out with the soon-to-be-launched Apple One package that includes TV + service.

The company also announced at the event this week that buyers of new Apple devices will receive three months for free for the company’s gaming service, Apple Arcade.
