Today, Apple announced that they will hold another autumn special event on October 13, starting at 10 PT. As with the September 15 event, it is expected that this will be a nicely edited virtual affair. On September 15, Apple introduced the iPad Air 4, a new 10.2-inch iPad, the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE. This event is expected to introduce the latest iPhone – iPhone 12.
So what’s going to be different with the iPhone 12? It is expected to be the first 5G-compatible iPhone, although the big question mark is whether it means that it will only support sub-6GHz band or also the super-fast mmWave band.
This generation of iPhones is widely expected to include a 5.4-inch base model known as iPhone 1
One of the other defining features of the iPhone is always the camera, with standard iPhone 12 models expected to use a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and wide-angle camera duo, with the Pro adding a telephoto lens. Some experts believe that the Pro models may have LiDAR sensor of the latest iPad Pro, which provides in-depth mapping.
The screen of the Pro models can also be bumped to a 120Hz ProMotion model with 10-bit color. Video is expected to add 4K slo-mo at up to 240 frames per second, and it is rumored that one Improved night mode and Advanced noise reduction can further enhance photography in low light.
What more can be announced? Many people have hoped for AirTags, the notorious device codes that can be placed on or in an object and then tracked using Ultra-broadband and bluetooth the features of the latest generations of iPhones. An exciting opportunity is one augmented reality (AR) mode i Find my app which allows users to “see” where a lost item is most likely to be found.
AirTags can be very useful for lost items from your home or office, as some of the estimated 728 million working iPhones present on Planet Earth can be quietly notified of their proximity to an AirTag, and then alert the owner of the tagged element where it is.
A lengthy announcement, but one that could be related to the “Hello, Speed” code line, would be the first Apple Silicon-powered Mac. The timing of a Mac announcement would be good, as the new Mac (s) would be available during high season, and macOS 10.15 Big Sur is approaching release with the latest beta shipment last week.
Whatever the announcements are, you’ll be sure to hear all the details here at The Rocket Yard.
