HomeKit-enabled ONVIS contact sensor is now available for pre-order on Amazon



Following the release of a HomeKit Secure Video-enabled camera back in May this year, it appears that ONVIS has quietly launched another HomeKit security accessory on Amazon. ONVIS CT2 Smart Contact Sensor is a cordless accessory designed to be installed directly on door or window frames, and can forward status updates through HomeKit when opened or closed.

Onvis contact sensor detection will send instant push notifications to iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch when there is a state change. It tells you if the door is open or closed, and reminds you not to forget to close the door before leaving your house. Remote control for security monitoring 24 hours a day for home, office, garage, warehouse and more.

ONVIS CT2 has a traditional HomeKit door and window sensor design with a two-part system consisting of a magnetic part and the main sensor housing. The sensor is installed directly on door or window frames using the included mounting strap, and for optimal placement, additional gaskets or spacers can be added to minimize the distance between the two parts. The compact sensor runs on a single CR2450 coin-cell battery, which ONVIS conditions can last up to a whole year before having to be replaced.

CT2 Smart Contact Sensor connects directly to HomeKit via Bluetooth 5.0 LE, without the need for a dedicated hub or even an account registration. Through HomeKit, the sensor can be used to send status alerts when a door or window is opened, and it can be used to trigger other HomeKit accessories through automation. In addition to HomeKit, the sensor works through the ONVIS Home app, which gives users access to a log of the last 30 days of events.

The ONVIS CT2 Smart Contact Sensor is available for pre-order now on Amazon for $ 19.99. Amazon indicates that the sensor will be in stock from October 15.
