How do I use an iMac as a different monitor?

I still have a late iMac like new, but as you know, I will not be able to upgrade to Big Sur. Is there a way to use the 2013 iMac as a second monitor with, for example, a MacBook Pro or more likely an Apple Silicon Mac?

Because I can not believe I can not upgrade my still similar iMac in 7 years, and looking for a way to at least continue to use the retina display. And maybe it’s just better to sell my iMac and use the funds for a new silicon Mac. My 21.5 ″ iMac is late in 2013, with a 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB memory, 1 TB Fusion drive.

Device: Mac running Catalina

App: Something else
