How to make sure Apple can properly review an app that relies on connecting to a local service? : iOSProgramming

I create an app that controls a software running on the user's local network. Without the software running, there is no data for the app to control / view. What should I do to prepare for the app shop review process?

Should I give them credentials for a test sample of the software running on my network (make sure that it is publicly available of course)? It seems that it would be annoying to make sure that data is always updated because the data of the software is data-based.

Or should I fill it with dummy data (but how should I ensure that Apple can access dummy data, but not real users)?
