How to show and hide system selection panels in macOS

Sometimes you may need to hide the system settings in macOS to prevent unwanted changes (I’m looking at you, my wife!). This is how:

1) Go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences.

You can customize which system settings you want to display

2) Under the View menu, click Customize.

3) Check marks appear on all items / panes in System Preferences.

Check boxes indicate which items are displayed or hidden

4) Uncheck a box and click Done.

If you later decide, you want to “remove hide” “a route, just reverse the process.
