"In a new report from The Information the site describes a few anecdotes to Huawei trying to steal Apple business secrets," reports Benjamin Mayo for the 9to5Mac. "The tactic involved Huawei engineers who appealed to Apple's manufacturers and vendors with high-order promises, but instead took the opportunity to adorn Apple-component manufacturing-specific processes."

"In one example, Huawei engineers working on smartwatch met a vendor this fall. According to the report, engineers tried to discard Apple Watch's pulse sensor specifications by promising big orders," reports Mayo. "In another case, a Huawei engineer sent a photograph of a material to the Apple provider and asked them to" suggest a design you already have experience with. "The supplier refused to cooperate."

Mayo reports "The information says there is also suspicion that Huawei copied the 201

6 MacBook Pro's thinner hinge design."
