Apple has just released the third beta version of iOS 12.2 to developers this morning, bringing a lot of updates and new features to the iPhone and iPad.
2.2 beta 3 arrived just over two weeks after the developers received the last building. There are also new betaes for tvOS 12.2 and watchOS 6.2 to go with MacOS 10.4.4 beta that came out yesterday.
Registered developers can grab the new beta builds from Apple's online store portal. iOS 12.2 beta 3 can be installed as an over-the-air update if you already have the previous building, or if you add the correct installation profile for the device.
What is iOS 12.2?
Apple News for Canada is one of the biggest additions to the update. Four new Animoji have been added for giraffe, shark, owl and pigs. There is also a new display mirror button in the Control Center, plus tons of bug fixes and performance enhancements. AirPlay 2 support with third-party TV has also been added.
After playing around in the iOS 12.2 code, Guilherme Rambo found references for "Hey Siri" support on new AirPods. There were also some hints in the IOS 12.2 that new iPads will soon also come.
The latest beta provided high and low heart rate messages and irregular heart rate alerts such as read-only category examples. Apple added some user interface to the Wallet app interface and changed some icons in Safari while adding some new features.
