iTunes HDR and LG OLED TV: appletv

Hi guys

Just wanted to share some weird behavior I saw twice with the ATV since I use an OLED TV (well. To be honest. Two same OLEDTV. One for me. And one I bought for my parents).

I use ATV at home and took me to visit my parents, and we saw two iTunes movies: Split and Bad Time at the El Royal (great movie)

These two movies use HDR – no dolby vision – and the HDR configuration on the TV configures not to add any dynamic contrast or anything to change the image.

Well. In the dark scene (corridor at the end of the split for example. Or another corridor at El Royal.) The dark flashes. It is. Not very comfortable.

When I use HDR movie on Infuse or Amazon, I did not get the problem. Either on Dolby vision or on a movie that uses HDR (mom. For example). I try with both TV and get the same behavior. The HDMI cable is the one sold by apple (Belkin High Speed). The TV is an LG OLED C8 so not too bad.

But it seems like everything works in SDR or Dolby Vision without any problem (even the ATV menu), but when I go to 4K HDR, the menu is darker. The subtitles aren't really glossy. It's really strange, since it's great on Dolby's vision, but really different in HDR with iTunes movies.

Does anyone get the same behavior?

Thanks
