It has long been rumors of a replacement for MacBook Air. This 13-inch machine will probably have the same form factor as the existing 12-inch MacBook, and will likely release Air Branding.
A new email from Apple suggests that the new model will actually be announced on its October 30th event.
A K-12 education customer has recently ordered a MacBook Air, iPad and Apple Pencil. IPad and pencil sent, but the school received an email indicating that MacBook Air is late and will now be sent on October 30th.
Apple's event the same day is expected to include the announcement of a brand new 13-inch MacBook, which does not seem to be coincidence. The least exciting option would be a less special bump to the existing Air, but it would be quite crazy given that the computer is now old when viewed with the rest of the MacBook, so the smart money is definitely on a new MacBook Air -replacement.
The order was for the higher specific 256GB model whose retail price is $ 1199 (although the schools pay less). Given that the email does not mention any price change, it seems that the school will be charged with the same amount for the new machine.
It does not necessarily mean that a new 256GB model will be priced identically – it's possible Apple is cutting them a deal – but suggests it will not be less than this and it's likely a place in this ballpark .
It would also fit into the layout I predict in the summer.
MacBook Prize at 12-inch Price Declines to $ 999 The rumored new 13-inch machine comes in at $ 1199 The new machine thus shades the gap between the $ 999 MacBook and MacBook Pro series. It carries the MacBook brand and is the machine you're up to if you want something more powerful than the entry level machine, but will not enter the MacBook Pro area.
A Digitimes report suggested $ 1200 price tag for MacBook Air replacement.
The email indicates that shipping times may change, so the new model may not be available on October 30th.
We have just completed what else we are waiting for next week's event. This includes the two new iPad Pro models, 11-inch and 12.9-inch; a new Mac mini – finally – with modern specifications that might be matched with a higher starting price; and a possible update to iMac.
Are you in the market for a MacBook Air replacement? And would $ 1200 seem like a valuable price for a MacBook-style form factor and significantly improved specifications? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
