Hi other Mac users!
This may be a strange request, but I'm looking for an alternative to Macbook Pro 2016. I've used macOS for a better part of a decade and at work we have a locked version of W7, so I'm not so busy with W10 and some descent Windows hardware.
To be honest, I love macOS, most software I own is macOS-specific and I'm used to the user interface and the hot keys. It's just what I can't do. Stand. The. Keyboard. In addition to the battery life in relation to 2015 or older models, 2015 will be where I live. It's been over two years and I can't get used to the keyboard and touchable. I've got it replaced twice, and the keys are stuck. My partners 201
I have no intention of getting rid of the laptop, but I'm considering leaving it at home to be used as a desk only. There is a great desk, but a horrible laptop. I've rated an iPad Pro with Apple's BT keyboard, a ChromeOS laptop or a Thinkpad with either Windows 10 or Linux. Main uses: Adobe Lightroom, Word, Pages and Safari for research. I'm going to do my heavy photo editing at home on my laptop with a connected NAS, but I want something to write and investigate on the go.
Has anyone gone a similar route? Are you happy with MacOS + Windows 10? Or macOS + an iPP as a travel device? ChromeOS? Linux? The only Windows computers I'm familiar with are corporate Dell and HP. They work but are not there near the build quality, screen and trackpad for Macbooks, except the keyboard.
Thanks for the advice!
