I got a MacBook Pro Retina in late 2012. It worked like a charm until now. I even had the battery replaced a year ago.
The problem I am facing now is a little more complicated.
What I have:
The screen stays black when you start the laptop. I can hear Apple “Zoooommm” -Sound and after a while Linux Login Screen-Sound.
The funny thing is that the screen works once in a while, and I can see GRUB – BootManager. As soon as I choose to boot into Ubuntu, the screen goes black and for a few reboots the screen stays black.
How it happened
What I did:
Torch test (through the Apple logo on the back of the screen)
Checked the hardware connection of the monitor inside
The cable looks good
Tried to boot up for recovery
Connected external monitor
Disconnected battery for 2 days
Help me Plz?
I really want to get this MacBook working again.
I do not care about the data on it. If it’s gone, it’s gone …
Does anyone have an idea what I can try to do? Or point me in the right direction?
