MacBook Pro Retina in late 2012 – Screen black

Hello together,

I got a MacBook Pro Retina in late 2012. It worked like a charm until now. I even had the battery replaced a year ago.

The problem I am facing now is a little more complicated.

What I have:

Problem:

The screen stays black when you start the laptop. I can hear Apple “Zoooommm” -Sound and after a while Linux Login Screen-Sound.

The funny thing is that the screen works once in a while, and I can see GRUB – BootManager. As soon as I choose to boot into Ubuntu, the screen goes black and for a few reboots the screen stays black.

How it happened

I remember the situation that happened. I opened the laptop and the low battery sign was displayed. I connected the charger and waited a few seconds, then I pressed the power button. It booted up to OS X and the login screen. I entered my password, then it crashed and everything turned black. I did not move the laptop during this. Since then, it is in this state.

What I did:

  • Torch test (through the Apple logo on the back of the screen)

  • Reset SMC

  • Reset NVRAM

  • Checked the hardware connection of the monitor inside

    • Reconnect it

    • The cable looks good

  • Tried to boot up for recovery

  • Connected external monitor

  • Reconnected SSD

  • Disconnected battery for 2 days

Help me Plz?

I really want to get this MacBook working again.
I do not care about the data on it. If it’s gone, it’s gone …
Does anyone have an idea what I can try to do? Or point me in the right direction?
