As (possibly) a response to jailbreaking becomes popular again in recent times, Apple has released its own initiative for this issue. In iOS 14, the new App Attest APIs give you a way to sign server requests as an attempt to prove to your server that they came from an uncompromising version of your app.
It’s important to know that App Attest is not “is this device jailbroken?” check, as it has been proven over and over again as impossible to find out. Instead, it aims to protect server requests to make it harder for hackers to create compromised versions of your app that unlock premium features or insert features such as cheats.[…]
Since you can not trust that your app protects itself, App Attest requires that the work on your back is fully implemented.
