As it is written, it sounds like Apple Digital Masters is equivalent to the lossless files that other platforms offer, but it is not. It's a re-mark of the Mastered for iTunes specification – probably because Apple no longer uses the soiled "iTunes" tag to reference their music products, with the exception of the iTunes Store. This specification is important because it helps labels deliver music mastered specifically for a compressed audio format, not just a CD or vinyl master conversion. This is great.
It still uses 256 kbps AAC files.
