Basically, BBEdit was remarkably quick to open the file, and was 4x faster than Visual Studio Code and 20x faster than Sublime. And so when it comes to saving changes to the file, most of the apps were in the same ballpark, which I guess is because this depends on SSD's ability to store the data, not the app that does anything special.
