Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has repeated previous reports that Apple’s new iPad Pro will receive a huge screen boost thanks to mini-LED technology, perhaps already this year.
In a research note seen by iMore, Kuo said that new mini-LED screens will begin mass production in the 4th quarter of 2020, and that it is expected that this screen will include in the new iPad Pro.
Kuo notes that competition between Apple and other vendors is increasing, and now is a war of economies of scale and cost, rather than technological development. He also notes that Apple has the highest bargaining power over suppliers, and that there will probably be a “hard”

There are rumors that a new iPad Pro is on the way, and the device is expected to debut a new A14X chip, 5G and a mini-LED screen.
While some reports launched in the first half of next year, other reports have said that it could be launched as early as the 4th quarter of this year, thus putting a potential launch just around the corner.
The iPad Pro already has one of Apple’s best mobile screens than 120Hz ProMotion technology. Mini-LED can further elevate the device by providing better contrast and brightness, deeper blacks and better energy efficiency and less degradation over time. The technology is also physically smaller, which can reduce the device’s form factor or allow for other technology and components.
Just this week, another Kuo report suggested that shipments of mini-LED screens in both a new iPad Pro and some new Macs should begin next year.
