MyMac Podcast 817: One Ring to Control Them All

So by ring we really mean Apple services, because a service to control them all would be a stupid title. And our titles are ALWAYS great! Except when they are not. Some video issues this time, so there will not be a video podcast this week, but Big Sur will fix all this… when the apps work as we use.

Guy’s Pick: EpochCam by Kinoni. You need both the iOS app and the Mac driver for EpochCam from Kinoni (free). There is also a viewer app called EpochCam Webcam Viewer in the Mac App Store that lets you view it.

Buy the iOS app (it costs $ 8 dollars), install it and connect your iPhone to your computer via USB. You can also connect via WiFi, but it is better via USB. Go to Kinoni̵

7;s website, browse a bit, and you will find the Mac driver. Install the Mac driver and it should work. I have tried it with OBS, Streamyard, eCamm Live, Skype and Zoom, and it works with each, but with Zoom it will only connect and display an image while the app is apparently running. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation.
