My stepson has an Apple Watch 3 w / mobile functionality. It is a telephone with an active plan associated with this watch. He’s only going to use the phone on wifi, but because he’s ten years old and knows what’s going on, he will turn on the cell again after we turn off the wifi for the night. Blah blah blah 5 concerts with LTE and a $ 100 Verison bill later we pick up the phone.
BUT in the age of eLearning, the phone has become a valuable tool, so we want him to have access to it … only without mobile functionality. We also want the watch to work with a cell so that we can track him, he can call us on it, etc.
If I just remove the SIM card from the phone, will the clock still work? Or do we need to quarantine the phone and get him an iPod touch or similar?
