Netflix, Amazon and Disney + will self-regulate to avoid censorship in India



The Indian government has been reluctant to censor streaming services and wants them to stay in check. This keeps theoretically happy officials – they do not have to worry so much that parents will inadvertently play inappropriate movies for their children, or that there is no way to report a TV show.

Services like Netflix already respect age limits in other countries. However, it is rare that these internet-focused outlets are united in a ranking system – they have clearly decided that it is easier to cooperate than to get the government to step in.
