Finally, Netflix has finally revealed the first trailer for The Witcher, a new fantasy show based on the series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski.
The first trailer introduces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia and the dangerous world he holds. A synopsis helps throw out the program's plot:
Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often turn out to be more evil than animals. But when destiny hurts him against a mighty sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate in the increasingly volatile continent.
The footage further establishes the "people are evil" theme with an ominous tagline that says, "The worst monsters are those we make."
Judged by the trailer, Netflix's The Witcher, gets a warm balance between action, mystery and fantasy. And Cavill doesn't look half bad as Geralt, even though his white wig is a bit distracting; It's certainly a change from his curls like Superman and his mustache like August Walker.
When you see the trailer, be sure to stay in the end. Witcher is expected to hit Netflix later this year.
