A new sketchy AirPods 2 rumor claims that Apple will reveal it together with AirPower and new iPads March 29th. All units will be unveiled by Apple at an event to be held in the second half of March.
After that, the units will go up for pre-order on March 22 before reaching stores on March 29. The report is based on information received from a trusted source in Apple's production chain in China.
It further claims that AirPods 2 comes with "Hey Siri" functionality similar to what we've seen on Apple Watch Series 4. It will also include an upgraded wireless chip. The existing AirPods use Apple's W1
The report is easy on other details about AirPower and new iPads. However, we have previously heard from reputable sources that AirPower, after a delay of over a year, has finally entered mass production.
For the new iPads, Apple is expected to launch the iPad mini 5 sporting the same design language as the existing mini iPad. It only comes with upgraded internals as this will allow Apple to keep the price at bay. The new 7th gen iPad comes with slightly smaller objections and a larger 10-inch display. It will also get an internal update, although details about it are not known at this point.
Given that Apple had previously launched the sixth gene iPad in March, it seems likely that the company will uncover an updated variant of the tablet along with other units in March again this year. The new AirPods have been in the tube for quite a few months now, and it is unlikely that Apple will wait until September this year to launch them because of the relatively modest update they bring to the table.
