The days of smartwatches as niche equipment may be over, at least in the US. The NPD Group estimates that the smartwatch sales jumped 61 percent in the 12-month range that ended in November 2018. There is nothing boring when some companies scale back their efforts or close the field altogether. The analyst firm also decided that 16 percent of American adults, or about a sixth of the group, now own smartwatches. There is a good chance that you see someone with a smartwatch if you go down the street to say it differently.
