Siri keeps track of your entire activity, offering suggestions in apps, searches, and looking up accordingly. As a result, you can quickly access important info, get smart shortcuts to perform frequently repeated tasks faster and more. However, some of you may find it a bit too much and will therefore turn off specific Siri Suggestions app or disable Siri Suggestions completely in iOS 12.
Fortunately, iOS gives you the freedom to control Siri Suggestions on iPhone. Depending on your needs, you can turn off suggestions in search, look up and even on the Lock screen. Even better, if you only want to set limitations on some individual apps, there is an option to do that too. Let me show how it works.
Start Settings App on your iOS device → Now, tap Start Start Siri Suggestions for Individual Apps on iPhone and iPad in iOS 1
Step # Siri & Search.
] Step # 2. Then scroll down and click on the specific app which information you do not want to show in search or look up.
Step # 3. Finally, turn off the switch next to Siri & Suggestions. Also make sure to turn off the switch next to View app.
That's it! In the future, information from this app will not be displayed anywhere.
From now on there is no option to delete or remove Siri Shortcuts proposals. But if you've decided to keep them away or just not find them useful, you can choose to disable Siri Suggestions on your iOS device altogether.
How to turn Siri suggestions on iPhone and iPad into iOS 12 Step # 1. Open Settings app on your iOS device → Touch Siri & Search.
Step # 2. Under Siri Suggestions, turn off the switches for:
- Suggestions in search
- Suggested suggestions
- Lock screen suggestions
That's pretty much it!
You have restricted the virtual assistant from offering some inputs. Should you have to change later, all you need to do is go back to the same setting and turn on the swap.
Wrapping up …
Frankly, I find this feature very useful as it helps me quickly access important information. But again everything depends on your preferences. And if you want to offer an extra cover to your privacy, you have the freedom to choose your own way.
