October is here and that means a whole new round of hardware updates from Apple. Last month was packed with iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, Apple Watch Series 4, iOS 12, watchOS 5, tvOS 12 and macOS mojave. This month, the cheaper and more colorful iPhone XR will hit the market, and more hardware and software updates are expected, including major news for iPad and Mac – possibly even an October Apple event.
Updated with Event Details, iPad Mini 5 and AirPower Reporting and Mac Model References.

October Apple Event?
Apple held its annual iPhone and Apple Watch event in September, but the Mac and iPad Pro hardware were not updated. There are plenty of Mac and iPad rumors, and Apple has used October to show updates to these products.
Apple can always free up new hardware with a press release and private press conferences, but a newly designed iPad and brand new MacBook certainly call for stage time.
If Apple is hosting an October event this year, when should we expect it to happen? Two years ago, Apple held its second autumn event on October 27th (Thursday) after announcing October 19th (Wednesday).
This year, the iPhone XR may be a bit …
Updated 10/18 : Apple has announced its next event for October 30th in Brooklyn, New York City.
iPhone XR Launch
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max launched on September 21, but the iPhone XR needs a little more production time before the release. Pre-orders start October 19 (Friday) with iPhone XR-Relax stores and reach customers a week later 26th October (Friday).
Holding an event around October 16 may mean that other new hardware can be pre-ordered and released on the same dates as the iPhone XR – just wondering at this time.
When iPhone XR launches, it will give customers an iPhone X-style phone with Face ID and fullscreen without the iPhone X award. iPhone X starts at $ 749 against $ 999 and up for iPhone XS. iPhone XR also comes with six color choices: black, white, red, yellow, blue and coral.
This phone will probably be extremely popular. It's faster than iPhone X and a big redesign from iPhone 8 and earlier. It also has a large 6.1 inch screen that will display the same amount of content as the much more pricy iPhone XS Max.
iPad Pro Redesign
We expect two versions of iPad Pro introduced this month: a new 11-inch size and a newly designed 12.9-inch size. This is going to be a big upgrade for iPad Pro.
Both models are expected to have Face ID and full screen design without hack, exit Touch ID, and maybe even change Smart Connector and optionally replace Lightning port with USB-C port.
iPad Pro comes in two sizes: 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch. The smaller version replaced the original 9.7-inch iPad Pro, while the 12.9-inch version has lasted for two generations.
Apple is expected to shrink the edges of the 12.9-inch version to create a generally smaller casing while replacing the 10.5-inch model with full-screen 11-inch version. This is probably the right call because the larger version is big and heavy now – factors less noticeable on the smaller version.
Updated 10/23 : Ming-Chi Kuo is now anticipating a cheap iPad mini update soon, although it may not be part of the October event.
If you are in the market for a new Mac, this month may eventually answer some of the questions about today's selection. Apple upgraded the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro in July, adding True Tone, Hey Siri, and higher core choices without an event. At least one new Mac design can be introduced this month, but it's worth showing.
Apple now makes a computer known as MacBook – the 12-inch Retina version – and a 13-inch version that replaces MacBook Air may be on its way. This has been rumored for a while with prices of over $ 1000- $ 1500, and a recent rumor that it will contain Touch ID (without the touch line) suggests it does not get up to level.
One of the great mysteries of this Mac is what happens to MacBook Air, the 12-inch MacBook and Touch Bar-less MacBook Pro. The last two Macs start with $ 1299, and MacBook Air – dear as it is – has not been renewed this year.
Talking about Macs that have not been touched this year, especially for Mac mini. If you go into an Apple Store and buy a brand new Mac mini in 2018, you're buying hardware from 2014. We expect the Mac mini to be updated last autumn with modern specifications that can see the start price increase.
The iMac is also due to an update, and at least one rumor says that the new hardware will contain "significant display performance upgrades" on one or the other manner. Rumors predict that MacBook Pro gets True Tone display that adjusts the color temperature based on ambient lighting, although it is not clear that it refers only to TrueTone on iMac.
Apple recently upgraded the iMac series in June 2017 as part of its WWDC event and the iMac Pro hit the market in December 2017. It is possible that we could see updates in both versions this month, although rumors about the iMac Pro Hardware Upgrades have not occurred and the machine is under one year old at this point.
It is more likely that iMac Pro can be updated next to the introduction of 2019 Mac Pro. 2019 Mac Pro is not a rumor, but instead a product that Apple has already announced without revealing it.
This screen-free Mac replaces 2013 Mac Pro and has a modular design of any kind – and Apple creates a new
Updated 10/24 : Three desktop Mac models and one Portable Mac model is registered before the event.
We expect some software updates this month that will bring new features to the latest hardware.
iOS 12.1 will bring live preview for depth control in portrait mode on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max camera along with dual SIM support with supported carriers.
watchOS 5.1 will introduce the new ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 in the United States that allows you to take a FDA cleared electrocardiogram of your heart in Rome at the time. The iPhone Health Device on iOS 12.1 lets you share the results with your doctor in a PDF document.
Group FaceTime will also probably debut as part of IOS 12.1 and MacOS 10.14.1. The feature is currently in beta on both platforms after being removed from iOS 12 and macOS Mojave betas during the summer. Group FaceTime lets you video and audio calls with up to 32 users with the ability to easily join and leave calls using iMessage.
Nobody knows exactly when AirPower is ready. Apple has not changed its target once in 2018 since AirPower's preview in September 2017, but it has not sent during the 12 months since the teaser.
There is a lot of evidence that AirPower's launch is imminent code in the iOS 12.1 beta, iPhone XS manual, and a change in how Milanese Loop unfolds to Apple Watch Series 4 – but the silence from apple also speaks for itself.
Updates to AirPods are also in a pipeline with a "Hey Siri" feature to enable speech assistant without losing gesture, but the AirPods wireless charging set already shown is likely to depend on AirPower's debut.
Updated 10/23 : Ming-Chi Kuo is still predicting AirPower's launch by the end of 2018 or early 2019 based on supply chain data.
The Nike + version of Apple Watch Series 4 hits the stores on Friday, October 5th. It includes t he has a new analog face with full color backgrounds, new Nike Sport Loop with reflective workshop, and the Nike Run Club app is built-in.
HomePod is also coming to new markets this month with Mexico and Spain, which will get access on October 26th the same day, the iPhone XR hits stores.
