Apple is working to give the iPhone 11 the ability to send audio to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, according to a new report by Macotakara .
Currently, iPhones can be paired with multiple devices but only actually connected to one at a time.
If this report is correct, the iPhone 11 may send audio to two Bluetooth devices, such as AirPods or other headphones, at the same time. This can be very useful for times when more people will listen to music or video content, such as on an airplane.
In the example provided by Macotakara, an iPhone can be connected to AirPods and a car entertainment system at the same time. It will allow music to be sent to these AirPods while navigating directions to the car's speakers or vice versa. It's a feature that definitely has the benefits, and the addition to the iPhone would be a welcome one.
Support for multiple Bluetooth connections at the same time is already available as part of some Android devices, but the current crop of iPhones is not able to offer the feature.
If previous releases are something to go with, we can expect the iPhone 11 to be announced in the September event. We have heard various leaks related to the 2019 iPhone series so far, and we expect it to continue in the coming weeks as we throw closer to the big day.
Before then we look at the software the new iPhones will use when Apple announces iOS 13 at WWDC June 3, 2019.
