In Xcode (12.0.1) you can specify the original status bar style for a project using ‘Status bar style’ in the general settings, or equivalent using the list. Normally this style will be used below the launch screen. For example, if you select ‘Light content’, you should get a light status bar during launch, regardless of whether the system’s appearance / theme is ‘Light’ or ‘Dark’.
However, it seems that the status setting for the status bar is ignored on iPads (both devices and simulators) running iOS / iPadOS 14. Instead, it seems that the “Default” setting is used, no matter what you choose.
Is this a UIKit error? Can anyone confirm (or reject) this behavior?
