Just under a month after the release, the new iPad Air sees its first significant fall in prices on Amazon. The discount is only $ 20, but that's enough to bring the price of the 64GB model to $ 479, down from the $ 499.99 retail price. And as a reminder, you won't even pay shipping if you're a member of Amazon Prime.
iPad Air is a great device if you want a machine that almost handles as an iPad Pro, but lacks some "pro" watches and whistles, such as Apple's ProMotion screen update technology. The new Air also retains the old iPad form factor, so you have access to Touch ID, a headphone jack and some great fixtures. It also supports only the first generation Apple pencil (and the incredible detachable cap). Fortunately, Amazon also sells pencil money for $ 5, which brings the price to $ 94.
It's an excellent and powerful machine, especially considering it packs the same A1
As reviewer Jason Cross said at the time:
"While I think Apple's product range is too big and complex, we legitimately need a mid-solution and iPad Air fits in well. For $ 499, you get a big step up in features, performance and storage over the iPad 329 $, you lose a lot of benefits with the iPad Pro: ProMotion screen, quad speakers, Face ID, a superior camera, faster A12X processor and support for the new and improved wireless Apple pencil. But you get the most from what the average iPad buyer wants most: A fast modern processor, good storage space, a wide color display with TrueTone, Pen support (first generation) and yes, a headphone jack.
