By default, a new Finder window opens on a Mac for your latest files. This is not always ideal, as you might be looking for a particular file or folder created a while ago. Follow to learn how to insert a default Finder folder on your Mac.
How to set a default Finder folder on Mac
- Open a window Finder .
- In the menu bar, click Finder and then Preferences . (You can optionally use ⌘ + shortcut.)
- In the General tab in the Finder settings, you can find New Finder windows: and click in the drop-down menu.
- Select from a predefined list of folders, or click Other toward the bottom to specify a folder.
Now, when you open a new Finder window, the open folder you have just selected for newer files.
