Black Friday and Cyber Monday give you a range of offers on the latest and best Apple products. Our friends over at 9to5Toys have done an excellent job of completing everything you need to know, read their continued coverage here.
This weekend Tumblr was taken away from the App Store for no reason. This week, however, we learned more about why Apple pulled the app, with Tumblr announcing that the content filters failed to identify child pornography. Although the abusive content has been removed, Tumblr is still unavailable in the App Store.
The Google Assistant app for iOS was updated this week with the integration of Siri Shortcuts. This means that you can now say "Hi Siri, OK Google" to access Google Assistant commands. It's not a perfect system, but without a doubt one of the cleanest integrations we've seen of a third-party voice assistant with iOS.
At the same time, reports from iPhone production cuts continued this week. A report this week suggested that Apple has cut production orders for iPhone XS and iPhone XR, citing difficulties predicting the demand for a three-line setup. In addition, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple lowered iPhone XR prices in Japan and launched a new iPhone X production in some markets.
