TweetDeck for Mac Should Crash Less Frequently After Last Update

TweetDeck for Mac has been updated with improvements on the back that are said to "significantly improve applet stability." This includes a solution for a major crash problem that affected many users, including some of our editors.

The full release notes for version 3.11:

– This edition replaces the old web display implementation with a modern based on WKWebView. Due to this change, the smallest supported MacOS version is now 10.10 (Yosemite).

– Memory usage has been significantly reduced.

̵

1; Fixes the ability to connect Twitter accounts via layers.

– Solves a big crash that affected many people. This should improve the stability of the app.

The latest TweetDeck for the Mac update in January also promised to "fix many crashes", but the app was still closed unexpectedly at times of its own, so hopefully this week's update will give its word.

Twitter bought TweetDeck back in 2011 and largely neglected the Mac app for several years. Unfortunately, it is the only desktop application that supports continuous streaming of tweets due to Twitter's new limitations on third-party applications last year.

TweetDeck for Mac can be updated via the Mac App Store.
